#Refuge100: fundraising for women escaping violence

100 years ago, women fought against inequality and won the right to vote. 100 years on, we’re still fighting for equality. For far too many, inequality and violence against women are two sides of the same coin. #Refuge100 is helping us support hundreds of women escaping violence.

We want to say an enormous thank you to everyone who joined us on International Women’s Day to raise life-saving funds for Refuge.

You hosted quizzes and bake sales; you went out running and walking – plus some incredible women performed music, comedy and spoken word at gigs across the country!

Refuge100 has now closed, but there are plenty of other ways for you to get involved and fundraise for Refuge. Find fundraising inspiration and tips here

Every day Refuge works tirelessly to support thousands of women and children experiencing domestic violence and other forms of gender-based violence. We run specialist services to help survivors access safety and rebuild their lives, but we cannot do this without your support.

Whether you choose to host a coffee morning, a tabletop sale, or decide to get creative in the kitchen – your funds will enable Refuge to continue providing its life-changing and life-saving services to women and children experiencing violence.

Help women like Melanie*, who joined one of Refuge’s support groups

Coming to the support group every week and listening to all the other women made me realise I am not alone. One woman started talking about what had happened to her kids, and that was the breakthrough for me. This woman was still standing strong – ‘that’s what I can do’, I thought.
