1 in 4 women – do you know how to support a loved one experiencing domestic violence?
Refuge and Avon have created an online campaign designed to help people support friends and loved ones experiencing domestic violence.
One in four women will experience domestic violence at some point in their lifetime. This means that someone you know – a sister, daughter, friend, colleague or neighbour – could be at real risk.
It can be hard to know how to support a friend or loved one who is experiencing domestic violence; the 1in4women campaign aims to support friends, whilst empowering more women to recognise abuse and reach out.
How well do you understand domestic violence? Do you know how to support a friend experiencing abuse?
An interactive video, beautifully illustrated by Fursy Teyssier, educates viewers on how to support a friend or loved one who might be experiencing domestic violence. Throughout the animation a series of questions is asked about what an individual would do if they thought a loved one was experiencing the abuse. How viewers respond to the questions determines how the video plays out. Click on the banner above to take part.
How can I help?
There are lots of different ways you can support a friend who is suffering from abuse.
